In order to improve African-Americans lives this blog sheds light on racism by calling it out. The fact that I discuss racism should not deem me an unreliable idealistic liberal, a racist, or a race-card playing cry baby. I was created by God to shed light on racism. My employment discrimination and retaliation experience while employed by NYS Depart of Corrections, and David and Goliath court battle with Eliot Spitzer’s NYS Attorney General Office gave me painful knowledge of RACISM.
UPDATE: Jeremiah is now 10 years old and has dreams of becoming a police officer like his uncle. Due to his heart condition that dream will not come true for Jeremiah.
In the following picture Jeremiah is acting as a "cop" wearing a bullet proof vest and pretending that the plastic toy gun he is holding is a real gun. This particular dream will not become Jeremiah's reality. The Affordable Care Act "ObamaCare" will allow him to have insurance coverage during his entire lifetime so that he can live a productive life. As a sweet loving boy he will live to have and accomplish other dreams for his life that at this time includes getting married to a pretty woman.

My grandson Jeremiah will be nine years old soon. Prior to his birth an ultrasound revealed that he would have Tetralogy of Fallot, which is a heart defect where there are 4 different things wrong with the heart. Jeremiah has had three open heart surgeries because his body or heart outgrows the corrective procedures. He has been very fortunate because all of his medical expenses including the one million dollars cost of his first open heart surgery at three weeks old were covered by good health insurance.
He will need another open heart surgery at age 11-13. The Affordable Health Care Act (Obamacare) makes it possible for Jeremiah to have health coverage with his heart condition. What will happen to my precious grand boy if the Supreme Court overturns the entire health care reform bill?
This video is awesome and gives an inside look at some of the tough calls President Obama made to get our country back on track. When President Obama is re-elected he will have the opportunity to really make this nation a more just and equal nation for all of its citizens including minorities. President Obama needs four more years to deliver the change that we voted for in 2008. Therefore, we should be pro-active and do everything that is legally possible to ensure that the change we voted for in 2008 continues.
African-Americans should go out in record numbers for a Republican primary today and vote for Rick Santorum. We must remember that this election is really the GOP’s true Waterloo moment in history. If and when President Obama is re-elected he will have the opportunity to really make this nation a more just and equality nation for all of its citizens including minorities. Therefore, we should be pro-active and do everything that is legally possible including voting in the GOP primaries for Rick Santorum to help President Obama get re-elected.
Rick Santorum’s campaign is seeking Democratic voters to come out to vote for him during the February 28, 2012, MI primary. I am respectfully requesting that all eligible voters especially African and Hispanic Americans who support President Obama and his vision of equality and justice for all Americans go out and vote today for Rick Santorum. This request is based on my belief that Rick would be an easier opponent for President Obama to defeat on November 6, 2012.
On January 29, 2009, President Obama signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Restoration Act. According to the New York Times: “In signing the bill, Mr. Obama said that it sends the message "that there are no second class citizens in our workplaces, and that it's not just unfair and illegal, it's bad for business to pay someone less because of their gender or their age or their race or their ethnicity, religion or disability."
As of today’s date Andrew Cuomo has ignored my pleas for justice and peace. I hope that as leader of the Democratic Party Pres Obama contacts Cuomo and request that he investigates my case, the unjust denial of the appeal of my disability retirement application, and makes me whole by reversing that denial and reward me much needed back pay from that appeal.
Like Lilly, Vera Richardson, was a victim of employment discrimination. Ledbetter and women groups were encouraged by the signing of the bill named in her honor. Vera and African-Americans victimized by unlawful employment discrimination will be encouraged and motivated to participate in the November 6, 2012, presidential election if the defendants and attorneys on record in Richardson’s case and tens of thousands of other employment discrimination cases are held accountable for their unfair and illegal actions.
On February 3, 2012, during a 2012 Presidential campaign event, Mitt Romney stated that “President Obama didn’t cause the recession but that he made it worse.” The great economic news on the same day of Romney's statement including the following facts: an 8.3 percent unemployment rate which is the lowest since 2008, 243,000 private sector jobs were created in January 2012, and the Dow Jones reaching its highest level (12,862points) since 2009 makes Romney’s statement false.Note to Romney: “You are entitled to his own opinions but he isn’t entitled to his own FACTS.” Vera Richardson
I am encouraging African-Americans to reconsider their decision not to support of even view the movie "The Help." The movie is current available on DVD and Blu- ray and has been nominated for Sag and Golden Globe awards including best actress for Viola Davis.
As a race of people African-Americans are currently losing ground on hard fought battles for equality, jobs, housing, education, and voting rights. We must use our God given talents and common sense to save ourselves. Since the election of this nation's first "Black" president Barack Obama many in politics are openly stating "that they want to take their country back."
The Help is a great tool to use to remind us and our children of some of the possible implications of cries by white politicians to take their country back mean. It is also a tool to use to encourage and educate our children and their friends to strive to achieve academic, political, personal, and financial success from an early age. Lastly is also an excellent tool to motivate us to put on your matching shoes and work to re-elect President Obama in order for him to continue his vision of moving this country forward by achieving equality and justice for ALL Americans including us.
NOTE: Picture of actress Viola Davis and Vera Richardson was taken by my daughter Julieannah in January 2009 at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, CA.
President Obama has endured hate speech, disrespectful congressional members, threats, and nonstop criticism for three years. I believe that most of the criticism is based mainly on the fact that he doesn't look like the other previous forty-three presidents.
When will the Republican Party, conservatives, and Tea Party members realize and accept the fact that Obama is a Christian who has declared his faith on countless occasions and that he believes in God? I believe that President Obama knows that it was God who made it possible for a self proclaimed African-American to become president and commander-in-chief of the United States of America.
It is time for those who hate President Obama or dislike him because of the color of his skin to get over it. He is your president too. More importantly it is time for the "main stream" media to stop making these unworthy criticism stories of people who dislike the President Obama because of his race "NEWS. "The latest none worthy story includes the statement that President Obama didn't mention God during his Thanksgiving speech.
In his November 24, 2011, weekly address President Obama stated in part: "From my family to yours, I’d like to wish you a happy Thanksgiving. Like millions of Americans, Michelle, Malia, Sasha and I will spend the day eating great food, watching a little football and reflecting on how truly lucky we truly are.
As Americans, each of us has our own list of things and people to be thankful for. But there are some blessings we all share.
I know that for many of you, this Thanksgiving is more difficult than most. But no matter how tough things are right now, we still give thanks for that most American of blessings, the chance to determine our own destiny. The problems we face didn’t develop overnight, and we won’t solve them overnight. But we will solve them. All it takes is for each of us to do our part.
With all the partisanship and gridlock here in Washington, it’s easy to wonder if such unity is really possible. But think about what’s happening at this very moment: Americans from all walks of life are coming together as one people, grateful for the blessings of family, community, and country.
So today, I’m thankful to serve as your President and Commander-and-Chief. I’m thankful that my daughters get to grow up in this great country of ours. And I’m thankful for the chance to do my part, as together, we make tomorrow better than today.
Thanks, and have a wonderful Thanksgiving."
Anyone who is finds a reason to complain about the content of President Obama’s Thanksgiving Speech is not being fair and or has other motives for their criticism. I thank God for President Obama and his vision of equality and justice for this nation. I am also thankful during this Thanksgiving weekend that we have a president who is willing to seek reelection after enduring relentless criticism and a media that reports many of those unworthy and unjust criticism as NEWS.
